Fee: $325 Members | $350 Non-Members (Plus $25 for materials if needed)

France is a well known watercolor artist from the shore of Lake Superior. For 30 years, she‘s owned and operated her gallery (www.austinmillerstudio.com), and taught seminars around the world in water media. Her enthusiasm and knowledge are sure to open doors to well designed images. “Silk is a very forgiving medium, it is relaxing, and the materials are by nature, divine to work with.” Francie stated. “I love to watch the painters as they fall under the spell of this ethereal medium. I began silk painting 6 years ago at a watercolor workshop I was teaching in Taos, NM. Not sure how the students would take to the surprise project, I was delighted to witness the joy and relief it afforded them after 25 hours of water coloring!” The 4 day workshop will concentrate on the techniques of silk painting using gutta resist and steam set dyes with emphasis on color, shape and design, and is open to all levels of painters. It includes 4 days of instruction with daily critiques and demonstrations with silk processing (except dry cleaning). Class size is limited to 20!

Stands are provided, and Vic will have a variety of chisels as well if you do not own mallet chisels.
