Dear SAGE Supporters,
With each day that passes, our understanding and appreciation of the seriousness of this global health pandemic increases. We decided today to follow in the footsteps of many community partners to temporarily close in response to the COVID-19 crisis. We made this decision out of care for the health and safety of our staff, members, patrons and the community at large.
Beyond the health risks of the novel Coronavirus, we are aware that the economic consequences and impacts of social isolation will test us all. Understanding such, we are working to bolster SAGE's online presence and to update our website to encourage continued art sales and to be a catalyst for creative exchange and interaction during these times of social distancing and isolation.
We all know and understand the value of the arts and wish to spread that throughout our community! Please continue to support the arts in our community and SAGE through the following outlets.
Visit our Online Gallery. We have launched an online gallery with the ability to process sales which features artwork in our Exhibition Gallery. We will soon expand this offering to our Members' Gallery artwork and invite you to visit and commerce those galleries at www.artinsheridan.com/shop.
Inspire and Be Inspired. Joining our creative friends at the WYO Theatre, SAGE wishes to spread virtual art inspiration throughout the community and needs your help to do so! Help create content by sending us videos or photos of your latest creations and links to articles, blogs or videos about the visual arts that are inspiring you. We want to fill our social media feed and newsletter with creativity from and for our supporters.
Join the Artbreak Challenge. You may already be familiar with the Strada Easel or Ink-tober social media art challenges. To help keep us inspired and creating art during the COVID-19 OUTbreak, SAGE will develop weekly ARTbreak challenges and will announce the rules and prompts each Sunday evening. Make art according to the challenge, post it to social media, and hashtag it with #artbreak! If you would rather not make your post public, please send your ARTbreak art to us via email and we're happy to share on your behalf.
Support local arts and business. These are challenging times for all of us. The economic effects, in particular, will be felt throughout our community. We encourage you to continue supporting local arts and businesses as you are able during this time. Please also consider making a donation to SAGE to ensure the community continues to see, create and promote art. You can do so online at https://www.artinsheridan.com/support or by mailing contributions to SAGE Community Arts, 21 W. Brundage Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Stay tuned and be wise. Circumstances change day-to-day, and SAGE will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions regarding temporary closures and alterations to events and programming. Please stay tuned for these announcements and follow the recommendations issued by the CDC and our state and local health agencies.
We wish you well and thank you for your support.
Compassionately,
Kendra Heimbuck, Executive Director & Susie Ponce, Board President
